Does it need an MOT?
Can more than one driver use a car at an event?
Will there be scruiteneering?
Will the cars need cut-out switches fire extinguisher, cage, harness?
Will there be a trophy for best turned out car with crapest driver, if so can I enter that competition please:D

No MOT required, unless you intend to drive your car to the event

Cars can be double driven, yes. You swap over after each run. The car has two numbers. Each number is allocated to each driver.

Yes scrutinering will take place, 5 minute safety check of the car gets you a sticker to say your car is OK to use, just like a quick MOT.

Cut out switch not necessary but is recommended. If you don't have a cut out switch you just need to label your ignition switch "ON - OFF"

Fire extinguisher not necessary but is recommended. A hand held foam AFFF is a good idea. The marshalls who are standing on every corner have access to big fire extinguishers anyway.

Cage mandatory for any car with MSA logbook, i.e. non road going categories. Recommended but not essential for a road going car. Personally whatever I drove I would want a cage in it - common sense no brainer approach methinks.

Yes there might be an award for the best turned out car. Perhaps someone can provide a trophy? Call it the "Spit & Polish award". You will defnitely suprise yourself with your driving ability. Most people drive much better than they think (unless they go to events as a novice expecting to win). You are beginning to grasp why sprinting appeals tp people like myself.

One point to emphasise here: All the safety stuff is contained in the MSA blue book which you will receive after you have applied for a competition license. The best way to answer these questions is refer to the book. We could go on explaining for hours on here what you do & don't need, which is all stated in the Blue book.

Any definate venues, will it be a mixture of race circuits, airfields and hillclimbs?
Places like North Weald are ideal for people to get into it were there is only the odd wodden fence odd pot hole to hit but nothing too hard

Generally as long as the floorpans inside the cockpit are un-modified ( ie not cut through to allow suspension arms through the panels) then the car is classed to have standard suspension. (standard.. remains the type originallt fitted to the car)

I would therefore class your car as Standard

I keep coming back to it, but i want to devolope it so its almost entirely bolt on.. it has a draw back which needs looking into which is increased roll stiffness, this has only shown up since the tyre change, more grip ..more roll, so Andys opting to link properly

How does Andy's 4 link differ?

All the brackets are under the floorpan and it uses original pick up points for all 4 arms and the coil-overs , combined with a non-intrusive panhard rod
