1. Going to see the beach boys ( minus brian wilson + deceased members :( ) as a surprise from my wonderful ladyfriend, outstanding and very emotional experience!

2. This weekend past at "T in The Park" ( Jockland music festival ) being dead front and centre for Brian wilson ( with all the mebers i saw previously ) as he closed the Beach Boys inspired, Pet Sounds arena on saturday with an awesome Beach Boys set, totally astounding experience that i will never forget.

3. Same weekend, same Pet sounds arena but on sunday, french ambient euro outfit AIR, provided me with as close as i can imagine to an out-of-body experience with some mindbending renditions of tracks from their back catalogue. felt on top of the world for an hour and a half, and was only helped by a sniff of some poppers :gay:. if you get the opportunity have a listen to their album "moon safari" you will not be dissappointed.

4. Kings of leon at the carling academy two months ago and last weekend at t in the park, very original and kaleb has a fantastic rock voice and lyrics are very good.

good call :thumb:

1) the Verve at V98, my first festival, 'history' was just so intense, the atmosphere was incredible, and bittersweet symphony as an encore for about 20mins... no gig to date has equaled that for amazingness.

2) being given some tickets by a bloke in shepherds bush park one sunday, with VIP passes for Hyde Park Calling last year... free bar, free food... then we 'accidentally' ended up in the back stage area, bumped into noel of oasis, and almost got ran over by james may as they were filming topgear (as well as being on tv for about 2seconds) then watched primal scream from the side of the stage. shook mani's hand. then met jonny borrel and the bloke from ocean colour scene, both nice, but a bit dull. then we tried to get back stage for The Who, but got thrown out so we went for more free drinks... that was a very good day.

3) went to see Sleepy Jackson who wernt that well known at the time,. only to find Snow Patrol and The Futureheads supporting.. a bargain for 8quid

4) Leeds 99, strolling into the carling tent early afternoon to watch a little band called Muse, wandered right up to the front as there cant have been more than 150 people there... they were awesome... then seeing them headline glasto 04 and being un-be-f'king-levable.. and being so smug id seen them all those years before :D

5) going to see Larrakin Love at a little venue in Kilburn, knew one of the warm up bands 'the view'.. was so impressed i went to see them the next week for my birthday at The Windmill in brixton, it sold out and we bought the last tickets tiny tiny venue about the size of a living room... as its a sunday, 5quid in and a free bbq :thumb: ... being dead center moshpit and falling onto the stage for them to pick me up.. 2 weeks later their album went No1

1) leeds festival 2004, 1st time i saw the white stripes, i was going to see them in blackpool but my missus at the time ripped my tickets up after an argument, so seeing em at a festival was awsome, as hadnt ever seen em b4 and had been into em from day 1

2) A band from america called The Soledad Brothers, awsome band, blues music, played a private gig in Manchester at Piccadily Records that i was personal invited to by a member of the band, and hung out with em after the show.

3) Pink Floyd all on stage togther at live 8, i fuckin cried man, even if i was about 100yards from the front haha

4) Seeing The Fall for the 1st time last year and going nuts when they did Mr Pharmacist!!

5) My 1st gig as a musician compared to my last gig, 1st gig was to about 100 or so ppl, last gig was as an unsigned act at a festival to around 3000 people, shatting myself back stage until i walked on

I'm big into my 80's suppose It's because teenage years were good time for me

saw AHa a number of years back and was blown away by just how good they were. Morten Harket can bang out a tune and still looks as fresh as ever. Seen many big names but these really did stand out from the rest.

for anyone into that music period they should try to see them before they disappear.

1. 15 years old and my 1st gig, at the Royal Court Liverpool to see OMD! Still think this band is awesome.

2. Queen and Marillion in Germany when I was in the Army, outstanding!!

3. The Proclaimers, at Falkirk Town Hall, you may laugh, but these were brilliant (even though they're Scottish ;))
and a surprise ticket from my ex when I lived in Kincardine.

Might be on my own here, but best ever musical experience was seeing Brant Bjork and the Brothers play in Metro Club in London.

He was the original Kyuss drummer, and low and behold bought a whole load of friends along, including a load of people who play on desert sessions, he was supported by Mondo Generator, and it culminated in an absolutely massive stoner rock jam session where they kept swapping instruments and played for over 3 hours...

just me with that one I guess!

PIG, they have reformed now and apparently sound just the same :woohoo:

Tone, have you listened to "Stanlow" and "Julia's Song" this was a song written when the band was called The ID. It was on an album called "Street to Street, a Liverpool Album"

It had new bands on it like up and coming Echo and the Bunnymen.

Funny thing is, I have just put a load of OMD songs onto my iPod.

Good taste in music mate, Larrakin Love and Muse are quality. I guess your like me, I love seeing bands that are special before they make it, because its like your little secret and they put so much effort it - as well as the intimate venues, then six months later they are huge and your like 'told ya they were good'

Best musical experiences?

'The Sunshine Underground' - Whenever I have seen them
'The View' - Carling Academy Liverpool
'The Maccabees' - Korova Liverpool - Tiny venue
'The Killers' - Carling Academy Liverpool
'Milburn' - Barfly

yeah really its the amount of time you put in to finding them, ive had to cut it back alot due to not having any spare cash (all gone into my car and a snowboarding holiday ) but about a year ago it was all i was doing, you get a feel for whats breaking, hear rumours of whos good etc.. one of my mates also worked for Rough trade, so i got alot of heads up and free tickets which was mental. seen some amazing bands in tiny venues as a result :thumb:
