View Full Version : All time Fave songs...
Ok guys post a vid of your all time fave songs, see what kind of mix you get, might remind us of songs weve forgotten about, or just general get into a "tune!!!" marathon!
heres mine, Led Zeppelins "in my time of dying" Live from earles court 1975, the song itself is my fave, but more so this performance, i recommend getting the Zeppelin Double DVD, everytime i put it on loud on the tv and get the big speakers going the hairs on my neck just stand on edge soon as jimi starts to play! And the middle section from 3:20 just gives me that watery eyes goose bumps feeling!
Plant, JPJ, Jimi Page and John Bonham just on total form.. and check jimi and jpj from 4:40!

"He has the only talking bum in the land" :D
Yes it's on the b side. :thumb:
Shortly after this song was out I went to work on a farm in Swanley, Kent for a year as part of my college course.
One of the lads there was a mate of the band, and told me what the songs were all about. Without going to look through my house for the old vinyls, I seem to remember there were 2 songs on the b side, the other was about socks. :dunno:
edit: or was it Simon Templer?

They used to have the law visit their gigs on a regular basis due to their 'lewd' stage act.

The boys love it, although my missus hates it now as we had it on all the time in the house while they were learning it!

Is your son the guitarist? if so, by the time he's 18, girls will be putty in his hand!!

Retro tries to tell me Limp Biskits version of Behind Blue Eyes is better. I don't see it myself, and to be honest, there isn't a great deal in it. :dunno:

ohh no sorry he was looking at pictures of kids for "research" purposes wasnt he.. silly me how could i forget!
Can't beat the original I'm affraid although that one is a good cover.
Zoso11, yeah still got the class 1 been racing today in Nottingham, first time this year due to work and family shit. Took my daughter along as well and she had her first go behind the wheel, think she's gonna be a better racer than me (not difficult!) My lad plays the bass at the mo, can do a bit of drums and guitar as well but the band needed a bass player and not many 10-year olds want to play that instrument so thats what he has to do for now. Think he'll end up back on 6 string tho eventually. Got a few more bookings for them now and have bought them a PA system so they can go gigging without having to support other bands.
good to hear the grassers still goin then. I do miss going to be honest, and having the odd go of a car. I was always good mates with John Gafney from class 7 (ns1). he had a metro with th WRC spec cossie in the back, think hes kept the engine and put it in a ciquento now. Thing was just stupidly quick.
You should scare yourself silly and get a class 7, wouldnt have a 8-10, open wheelers are just a ticket to rolling death.
Bass should actually be more beneficial for your lad with him being young, as going up and down the scales stretches the fingers more, forearm workout, and will do wonders for his dexterity, its just generally more hard work, he'll have arms like hulk hogan by his teens years.
Get him to learn stevie wonder higher ground.. and then buzz of it. Its officialy the best and easiest bass line ever!
here is one of mine - another Leftfield awesome tune - Melt.
I got the link from youtube that has a rather nice young lady enjoying the tune too (not that rood). Only one I found with the tune on it lol.
Enjoy - the tune!
