Who's doing the Championship in 2008 then?
My plans are similar to this year - OFSC and 3 or 4 Stage Rallies as well

I would like to say i am going to do some rounds, but i am making a full on attack at wiining the overall DMN title so all resorces and time will be thrown into that
the mind is willing.............
i'd love to do it but work and DMN mean its unlikely to happen, i'd like to do a few rounds once my escort is back up and running but thats a fair way off,.
OK the regulars will be out again but what about some first timers?
7 people in the class for 2007, we need more for 2008 please.:thumb:

i think it follows the midlandspeed championship/ (http://www.midlandspeed.org.uk/) so you can see all the venues on the site.
and windy, i should be a newbie having a go.. even willing to forfeit my usual snowboarding holiday to fund it, so all being well i'll be out there being annoying and asking for lots of advice :D
I'd love to but its just too far away:(

No you won't be annoying, we are always happy to help newbies, that's what's really good about this sport & its a good friendly championship & very easy to get started.
Have a look at this book because its got the introduction to Sprinting & hillclimbing fully covered. One for the Christmas present list:thumb:

Got this email from the MSA yesterday
Dear D XXXXXXXXXX
We are pleased to confirm receipt of your 2008 Competition Licence Renewal.
If there are no queries resulting in your application being returned to you for resubmission, you should receive your licence within 15 working days. If you have requested the Express Handling service then you should receive your licence within 3 working days.
Regards
Licence Department
:woohoo:
I'll be doing selected events Graham, with the XR2 and some extra grunt. Aiming at 220BHP with the engine I'm building.
Should give you a bit more of a run for your money at Cadwell. 8-)

Graham, Welcome back. I thought you'd sold the car and were hibernating:thumb:;)

Nah, couldn't bear to be parted from the old girl. Besides, BUSA INSIDE doesn't have the same ring to it.
I've got my £72 MSA license (ouch), just need to post off the MidSpeed entry form and I'm away.
I'll be using Focus S3 parts in my S2 engine, imported from the USA. Fraction of the cost of UK bits. Aiming for around 11:1 CR, and using CAT CAMS maybe. Not decided on the profile to use yet.
What does your Red Top rev to?
How did the whole Handicap thing work last year? How will I fair?
Are you going duratec then?
VX revs to 8.5.K but may have to go higher if these other engines are going to be chomping at my heels.:D:banana:
Handicap worked well - it made things very close in the end, even though the cars were massively different in spec.:thumb:
Are you going duratec then?
Nah, staying Zetec silver top, S2.
S3 rods and pistons fit in the S2, and are v.cheap from the USA.
Eagle steel rods and JE pistons are around £350.
I may go for billet gears in the oil pump, to avoid dry sumping. Still doing my homework.
Expecting 8KRPM, which should see almost 60mph in 1st gear.
Would like to go sequential, but haven't spoken to Quaife yet about a 'deal'.
Looks promising
Entries so far:
Classic Ford Cars
Graham Blackwell Ford Fiesta XR2
Matthew Downer Ford Escort Grp 4 Mk 2
Gavin Rogers Ford Escort Mk2
Graham Millar Ford Escort Mk 2
Any newcomers yet?
I've posted my entries off for Croft on Easter Monday, Harewood Spring Meeting, MIRA (May) and Shelsley Walsh (July)
Fingers crossed I get the car back together before Croft.

I have just found this forum today after visiting GS Escorts and rather than my first post be in the 'introductions' section I would just like to add that I wish you guys well in this championship and I hope it will still be up and running in 2009 when I will have my MK1 up and running.
I will be competing in the Chester and Liverpool motor club Speed championship this year in My wifes' RWD Skyline :O as my first attempt at Sprinting and have bought a MK1 to restore/set up for Sprinting and reading about this Championship tonight has spurred my enthusiasm even more.
Good luck and I may even see some of you guys at one of your events as it clashes with one I will be at (3 sisters July 6th)
