http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq2vl99iIEcYouTube - OMD - Electricity.

This was released (version 2) in 21st May 1979, but then re-released (version 3) in March 31st 1980. Version 1 was released in 28th September 1979.

A bit confusing, but they changed the way the song (and who) was produced.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FzMJjHhnlkYouTube - Depeche Mode - New Life (Hammersmith Odeon 25-10-82).

And you can't have an 80s discussion without Yazoo and Don't Go, released in 3rd July 1982.
