how did it go Chris ?
eyup pete, the first race, up at 5,30 sat, got signed on ok, scrutineering was tricky, no brake light, firewall suspect ,but we blaged it ,as i would, . qualifying went well, obviously new to the procedure so of i went , had my team givin me pit board , the half way board was a pair o tits drawn on the board, anyway, all was well untill.... the brake pedal [hand controls reemember] wentt to the dash ,no brakes at 120 mph, so after i shit myself like never before i came in, so after a bit of cleaning up x head scratchin , yes i put some new fluid in x re blead the whole lot, few other bits to sort but got ready for 1st race, about 3/4 down the grid, asgainst rs200, 996 porkers, caterhams etc, start was good, overtook a few ,got into it but it took a while to get my confidence in the brakes but they were awesome, finished the race ,i found myself not being able to keep the pace up,not used to the speed you have to go i think, arms tired, but i know what to excpect now, think a tin top with power steering , sell westfield . this racing is awesome HOOKED,everyone was very welcoming , all winter now to sort my next move, needs to be tin top, sequential box , the small civic type r looks good???????????any ideas, now a racing driver watch this space:woohoo:
well done mate :thumb:

Well done, I know how you feel about racing, once you have the bug you are in trouble :clint:
Be good to see the escort done, but if you wanna nice sequential tin top in the mean time have a look at the current or previous shape clio cup, a very nice quick racecar and the older shape are pretty cheap :thumb:

Dave's right about the Clio .... or the escort with a *cough* Quaife sequential, and a cossie matt power steering system.
Well done on the first race, and the way you have written it you can tell you was buzzing thinking back to it ..
thanks lads, buzzin, yes off to brands to poke my big nose in the clio pits, yes the cup car is good,i can build up the escort while getting some track time in a reliable car,the sell it when the scort is done, i have a glebe 6 speed sequential for the cossie which is 2.2 doug kidie crank engine, on dta, so if you guys see us at brands please come and say hello, staying near essex arena premier inn, AFTER A CLIO. just seems none for sale at the yorkshiremans price, think 10k should get me a good one?????:thumb:

You've probably looked already but racecarsdirect is a good site to find a few modern one make cars, like clios.
It seems that they don't often drop much bellow £11.5K though, but they are very tidy race cars with a well sorted setup. We're at the Britcar silverstone meeting this weekend so I'll keep my eyes open :thumb:
cheers dave white, yes clio is great, been advised that the earlier one is a bit harder to drive than the new one, went to brands this weekend to ask questions [bttc x clio cup] they want 20k for the new shape clio] with spares, as you say the older ones are 10k, been thinking it might be as well getting stuck back into the scort big style and racing that, its just time, its just that the clio is turn key and i can get on with learning to drive x racing,:confused::confused:??????????????
