View Full Version : Classic Racing Ford Special Saloons invited to social weekend

If any owner of a classic Ford Special Saloon,Thundersaloon or Silouette then you are welcome to come down and join us for a couple of days on the HMSA Historic Modsports and Saloon Association display area @ the Modified Madness event July 10th and 11th 2010 @ Baker Barracks,Thorney Island.
We will be setting up on the friday so if you want to trailer your car down,join us for a couple of days having 1/4 mile runs,displaying your car to the thousands who are to attending and having a beer and discussing how we can get together and race these awesome cars.
There are a few big racing Fords attending including the mighty ex Peter Thurston Mk1 Escort of Lee Costello,a Brodie Escort and a Zakspeed Capri of Spec R Alloy.
There will also be some of the awesome spaceframed Modsports cars,including the legendry Turner VUD 701 of Chris Fulke Greville.

Hmm - Chris Fulke Greville - that name rings a bell - I remember seeing a programme on the telly about him once

Yeah Chris Fulke Greville is always racing cars,one was a really rapid Vauxhall Astra GSi that dominated many Championships and events,it beat me quite a few times and the other race car I see him with everywhere is a famous Historic Turner Sports Car.

I remember thunder saloons at brands
There was a factory ( i think) Carlton GSI that just beat everything
It was awsome
