It's gone steadily downhill from the good old days and become soo boring to watch.Nowhere near enough teams and they aren't fast enough either.Went religeously every year to see them, apart from this year when I decided it just wasn't worth it and enough was enough.Who thinks it will ever get better or just die off? For me the end of the cossy era was the last time i saw some fun racing in the btcc. [img]http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/sad.gif These day's its a prosesion of cars one behind the other with the only excitement being in the pits, bit like formula 1 then.. [img]http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/wink.gif I prefer to watch things like the TVR Tuscons now or Aussie V8 racing where you get to see some tail out action... The BTCC is complete toiltet now a days, i turn the telly over straight away as it's just sooooo boring, vauxhall vs honda, with some poxy little pug's thrown in, and they are too slow. The rs500 days were best, the days of the renault / audi / nissan / bmw battles weren't bad, some good close racing, but now [img]http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/snore.gif

The aussie touring car series is the nuts! 600+BHP V8's, reminded me of the rs500 days abit with the flames and the sheer speed [img]http://www.turbosport.co.uk/images/smilies/grin.gif

IT certainly is going down hill, but i still think if you actually make yourself sit down and watch it theres some good action, i really thought the rockingham event was 1 of the best from the season.

They changed the rules so its now a strict no contact, shame really as, it was the door to door racing that made it what it was imo

Defo! BTTC sucks, I'm all for watching any kind of racing on wheels, but BTTC just makes me feel let down by the rules, the low power at like 9000 revs and shoddy budget teams with mulaa on the mind rather than entertainment. You all say that the days of the RS500 were the best, and to a point I agree, however the understated and forgotten Thunder Saloon championships were in my eyes the best! Huge body kits, Huge engines, fast racing on lairy tracks with winning in mind and no politics, I remember seeing a Mk2 fiesta Thunder saloon as wide as it was long (well you know what I mean) with a 2.2 litre engine screaming coming into a corner at break neck speed, it hit a wall spat it's 9inch wide rear wheel straight into the cockpit of the 2.3 litre engined 309 behind it, this was my first introduction to touring cars and the best race series there ever was. Myself and the old man think back about this series quite often. BRING IT BACK!

Did you see the last couple of races in the BTCC, they've been better than for a long time.
