    Cosworth group A coil on a pinto dizzy

    Hi
    can the Cosworth group A coil run a pinto non vac distributor
    has anyone done it

    the coil primary resistance has to suit the triggering system or ballast/non ballast supply, so if you running points no, whats going to trigger the coil, your gotech? probably ok then. you do know you dont need anything as fancy as that Group A coil, a normal ordinary coil will be ok

    I went to move my car to it’s new lockup and my coil was dead, I had a spare group a coil and it worked perfect for around half an hour then the car started misfiring and inside the dizzy cap you could see all the arc’ing. Wasn’t like that before I fitted the coil because I had removed the cap to make sure the points weren’t stuck closed before changing out the coil

    I’ve slready got a group A coil so will owe me nothing
    I’m using the Aldon ( non points ) dizzy with no vac
