    Duratec expansion tank

I see a lot of people don't bother with these - my rad has a fairly big header tank so was wondering if it's really needed?

    Cheers.

If you have fairly large capacity and the rad has an overflow, after the first temp cycle the level in the rad will reach its 'happy place'. If when cooled down the water level is low and into the tubes, ie. not covering them, then I'd say you need some more capacity.
