if its that bad gaz it may be done with a gallon of petrol and a match

It's built into the gear box unit so it'll be a case of taking the 'box out and stripping it! Why do you want to know? Autodata reckon it'll take 7.8 hours btw.

well i took it to a scooby dealer in doncaster cos of the noise it was making after about 25 to 30 miles (at proper running temp) and they told me that the viscus plates in the centre diff were grooved and that was the noise , they are not contacting properly and are jumping about or somthing

, so would it be just be easyer to change the gearbox ? and would that solve it ?

is it making a whiney wizzy kind of noise rather than the standard gearbox whine after 10-15 mins of a bit of right foot? almost like the sound of a dodgey power steering pump
