Dont forget if a cars been taxed in the last few years and its registered to you make sure you fill out a SORN.

LOL!! They don't miss a fooking tick this government. How much extra revenue does this give them? If they are catching all the habitual breakers (as well as the honest mistakers) now does this mean that the overall cost goes down?

Does it bollocks.

It's why I'm glad I've got my bike, 400cc's is very cheap to tax. Pity the 2.9 granada isn't.

i've had 2 of those fines just rang them up and demanded i spoke to somebody with authority and stated very clearly that i hadent recived the letter that said i needed to tax it or sorn it, and i didnt think anything of this vehicle as it had been sat up for a while and didnt bother me i tthen asked for an address so i could state this in writing,,,, i got an apolagy off them twice

i had got the letters just genuinly forgot to send them off but i was fucked if they were getting money off me!! give it a try mate

I've got a car which was taxed when I got it but have still not got round to putting it in my name yet as its been of the road since the tax ran out in May 2002. How do I stand? Should I SORN it or just wait 'till I put it back on the road (in afew months time) and tax it then, claiming I just bought it?

i sent in a sorn form for both my anglia's twice and never got a reply

so i sent em in again with a letter saying i was worried about "the high profile advertising campain" and that i'd allready sent in 4 sorn forms etc.

I got a reply that time... they told me that they have been off the road so long that i don't need a SORN and i got a letter saying that as well... that's all i wanted in the first place was some kind of confirmation that i wasn't breaking their complex law..
