    Re: Amazing

I tip my hat to the pilots, crew and the people who designed the a320

I've seen the time and effort that goes into designing and building these planes and I'm sure that the design played a big part in it not going up in smoke or sinking (and yes I am aware it was only lightly fueled for a short flight)

i flicked over to sky news just as the news broke, was amazing watching it unfold, and then seeing the tug boats tow the boat up the river.

    Re: Amazing

Just watched this on the news what pilot, saved eveyone and even found time to walk up and down the plane to check everyone had got off.
And to land on water without it cartwheelingor stalling, just goes to show how good the pilot is.
Great news from what could have been a horrible start to the year for some people

Landing on water must be one of the drills you can't really practice either - you can only get it wrong once!

    Re: Amazing

Just seen the footage captured by the Coastguard and other local cameras on the news - Awesome stuff

The Captain is a proper hero, not only does he carry out a near impossible landing, he then walks the plane, twice, to make sure everyone is out, gives one of the passengers his shirt to keep him warm and then calmly calls his wife to say "there's been an accident" - just Awesome, Big Respect

    Re: Amazing

I can't believe that in a city of so many people, none of them managed to capture the event on a phone cam or similar. Surely there must be some footage, of the captains incredible actions on the net somewhere.

There even was one passenger on the news, lying in his hospital bed, with the captains shirt on. Given to him to keep him warm.

Surely Captain Chesley B. Sullenberger III must wear his pants outside his trousers, and wear a cape.

I also saw his family give a brief statement, and the pride on their faces and in their voices, choked me up.

    What a man.

    Re: Amazing

It was not a flock of birds it was the american government who downed this plane, send me £4 and will send you a DVD of proof.

    Interestingly:

The plane was an A320 add the 3 to the 20 and you have 23
The Pilot was 57 add the numbers together and you get 13
The flight number was 1549 and if you add them up you get 19

No you see that this is very scary 13 19 and 23 are all prime numbers !!!!

A flock of birds..... I dont think so, America admit you guilt !!!!!!
