another private health question/potential scam.....

So had my scan 2 weeks ago, on the day of the scan the consultant promised me i would hear off him within 2 weeks. Quick phonecall yesterday to hospital, only to find out my consultant has gone away for 2 weeks, and still has not assessed my scan yet.

Que mrpies throwing a tantrum.

So, f$%k the nhs now, i have formulated a plan i would like everyone to tell me what they think..

When mr consultant comes back in 2 weeks, ring him and say everything is now ok with said knee, no problems anymore. Sign up to prudential health. After say 4 months, ring the pru tell them im having some problems with my knee, i think you can see where im going. Slighly wrong and immorral yes, but desperate times and all that...

So if i do carry out said plan, is there anyway the pru would be able to get my medical file off the nhs, or not because of the data protection act and all that malarky?......

Dumbass plan I'm afraid.
Pru will get your medical records and suss you straight away. In the meantime you are back at the end of the NHS queue.
As many letters as you can to your local MP, Councillor etc etc does make a difference if you make the effort. All they want is a quiet life, so the more fuss you make the more they will do to make you go away.

Dave's right but you should have taken out insurance before you reported the problem. I know someone who did just that and it worked, and that was with his knee as well! He just took out insurance, suffered it for a couple of months and then got it sorted.

Just write letters of complaint about any delays in treatment.
Write. Don't phone, it is too easy to dismiss a phone call, letters have to be replied to. If they don't reply, write another one complaining about that too. Keep a copy of all letters and dates, and be persistent.
