Karaoke gear

i was thinking to buy somekind of karaoke mixer and microphone to make my wife's life as a living hell
what do you recommend?
I have a 42" plasma screen with Yamaha Amplifer, DVD Player and big speakers.
they don't have build in karaoke input.
There is AUX input behind amp. so i was thinking sound from dvd should lead to amp aux input with the mixer between???
What kind of mixer with proper echo?
also any experiences with PC based software and gear???

A good alternative is Singstar on the PS2 - we regularily go on night outs and come back for Singstar battles.

Due a night out this coming Friday and Singstar 80's dropped through the letter box on Friday!
