    rear disk conversion question

Hi, I bought an RS that has had the rear disk conversion but I'm not sure the calliper is mounted in the right place, can anyone confirm they are correct or should it be around the top area?

I am also aware that its not piped correctly, its on my list of things to do

The calliper looks a little on the low side for my liking and could do with repositioning so it sits just above the spring, maybe if the brackets were turned and swapped side to side that may improve things. Failing that you could re drill the mounting brackets.

Was the Car bought from a TS member?

Mine are at the top of the axle. Brackets were made by Gartrac and use 2wd Cosworth calipers and disc's. All my pipework is braided, too much hard work for me to do it from scratch in copper.

Generally speaking, you'd mount it so the bleed nipple can actually bleed.

Other than that, pipe routing, cable routing, and general damage prevention from say stones, it could go anywhere. But generally they will be in the 9 to 3 o'clock region at the top of the clock

The guy I bought it from said he had tried to bleed it several times and still couldn't get a pedal, when I looked underneath I knew why
