    Cabbage Patch Kids

I was talking a while ago with some good friends. When I said I grow a million cabbages a year they didn't believe me.
One of them even explained to me that a million is a thousand times a thousand.
I do grow a million a year, but don't harvest them all. Some are lost to pigeons, bloody rabbits eat some, some die from frost, some go rotten etc....
They are all cut by hand, bent over nearly touching your toes, using a knife. Back breaking work!
I often feel rather unfit, but just see if you can touch your toes (just see if you can see them some of you ). Then walk twenty yards like that, turn around and go back doing the same.
    Feckin hurts don't it?
I do that at least all morning, and occasionaly all day.
Last week I counted how long it took me to cut a thousand cabbages. 50 minutes. That's one every 3 seconds.
My personal best is 1500 in one hour, that was including 2 fag breaks Average of one every 2.4 seconds.
Needless to say my knife is very sharp! The blade only has to touch your skin and you will bleed. ( I probably shouldn't say this, but it's a good while since it happened to me. My cousin had stitches last week though )
We worked out last week at work that in the last 5 years I have personaly cut 1,000,000 cabbages. And they wouldn't let me exaggerate I assure you.

Here's some. This is probably 2 acres and we have roughly 26 acres of them.
Not in the best condition as it's getting late in the season.

I think you need a thousand trained rabbits that can pick a thousand cabbages each.

I had carrot soup yesterday as a starter, bloody delicious i thought, never tried it before.

    That's the hardest part.
Standing up straight at the end.
If I have a week off work my back is killing me from standing straight.

This is what cutting a million cabbages does to a knife.
The top one is newish, but gets used for a different job. The bottom one was the same sized blade a million cabbages ago.

Oh, Quarterless, I cut them, I don't eat them.
