I guess the only people that can answer that are your local council, although if the car is 'off road' and you have declared it SORN, then it should be ok.

my car has been sorn for a month or so now, and its parked off the road but i did have to check with the flat management (who have private clampers) and they said its fine as im still a resident and the car is still registered to me etc.., there is a sign on a council block not to far away that says they will tow any car that dosnt have tax or appears abandoned... i think if you let them know it will be fine

Well, I had my car clamped after I bought it and left it outside my house for...........1 day!! 3 days later they lifted it and took to Wrexham pound!!

I think it's only on a public highway that they can clamp it. And it has to be the DVLA only that can clamp it or a contractor for the DVLA. The clamp will have DVLA painted on it. And you get a big yellow sticker on both windscreens to tell you!!

well I had to admit that I was the one in the wrong as not having tax made my permit invalid so they had a right to clamp me....but went round to sweet talk to the estate manager..rubbed his back and poked him a few times in a very flirty way and he said he'll sort it for me tommorow morning it so helps to be a woman sometimes
