    Mk6 escort full of mould

My mk6 has been sitting on the drive a while but today I noticed the front windscreen steamed up and the interior full of mould..I can't really find where the water is getting in... are there any know areas that these cars leak.... ive bought a huge sheet of polythene to cover it but I'm going to need to sort the damp first

I uncovered my Sons Fiesta a few weeks ago and that was full of mould.

Just a condensation build I think.

I sort of just happens with garaged / covered cars! Impossible to seal the inside from atmospheric air ingress and cold, damp air will enevitably get in. That brings in mould spores and the cool still air environment they multiply!
Increasing the ventilation may help or a small elec. fan to move air around. Its not a 'damp' problem per se - wardrobes in a warm house positioned against a cold external wall generally can experience mold on wall behind the wardrobe
due to lack of air movement!

I opened the doors today aired it for a few hours sprayed the mould with a vinegar solution then dried the inside windscreen with a towel..it was soaking... oddly enough the carpets are dry...I suspect the water is coming in from either the boot seal or the rear light seal as there's some water in the boot under the carpet though again the carpet is dry.... guess ill need to air it daily until I get the mot done at the end of the month
