    Good people ...!
The mutation is a fact ... Cortina'n and Sierra have become one another.!
Tonight, I have begun to assemble the dashboard, when it's stuck, I will make new mounts for the fan heater and heater of the bulkhead.
    The project progresses ...

Here are some updates on my Cortina project ...
Cortinan and Sierra-section is now merged, so the hybrid has seen the world ...
I agree to complete the left side inner fender. It takes time but is slow but steady progress ...
here a link with some pictures from my project ... http://www.garaget.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=163954 (all written in Swedish)

    - At last ...!
Left inner fender ready ... made the last few moments ago, so now I can go to bed with a little smile on the lip ... (However later in the building I have to cut off some of the trailing edge of the inner screen, the wheel will take in when steering to full lock...)

socket for the wheel to make room becomes the "original pressing" on the inner screen at the bottom in the corner ...

    Happy New Year England ...!
It's so long since I wrote anything on the forum, so I almost forgot the English language ...! Bad ..!
    The following has happened:
I have been following through with the front suspension, the Volvo 960 front hub,
the adjustable legs from England to Escort mk2 (60mm springs and Bilstein 300/70 's,
rack of Volvo 240 by 2.7 between full deflection).
Furthermore, I have ordered new front fenders and front plate from Expressed Steel Panels, these am I waiting for since October.
The front floor is fixed and welded in the car, rear end, I am at this moment in time to adapt to Cortinan. is also to build a cage in the car, the headband is made, front cage is under construction ...

this is some history from the fall 2011

Thats really coming together Håkan. Did you machine the arms yourself? I like also your adjustable strut tops, did you machine those also yourself? Great work!

I love this thread - really interesting engineering happening - so much different to the English way of doing things!!

Were those hub spindle's originally fitted to a car with an A-frame design?

And i also like the way you write English - very entertaining and makes me smile each time i read it!!

    Yes...
I have designed the control arm in my Cad and then milled from control arms from a massive square bar 75mm ...
about 30 hours of production time ... (puh..!)

No. ... The Volvo 960 has the same design as the Ford Sierra / Escort.
The difference is that Volvo has a torque arm (Caster-contractor) where Sierra have the anti-roll bars, And Volvo has the anti-roll bars forward. Volvo 740/940 is similar in design but have no loose wheel spindle which is screwed into the strut, 740/940's legs looks like the Escort MK2. Volvo 960 is not rigid rear axle, they have a multi-link rear axle ...

-Much work with them ... It's a little adjustment to make on them, inner bracket to be adjusted a bit.
I will measure the Sierra's control arms how thick the goods are on the walls of the inner portion of the control arm's.
As it is, so is the "head" a little too big, then I have moved the hole for the control arm of the beam 18mm,
and it became too small for the arm's in the beam

Now I have put into the rear floor solved in the car ... it looks pretty good, but usually required some adjustment. I also scraped away all the rust protection lot .... trembles when I shall do it in the front part of the floor ... For it is a real slave-making, and I can not do last car comes down from the jig when it is too crowded below now.
This weekend I will try to make clear the floor, but it should not be welded into the car before the cage is welded and finished.

    more info coming soon ..

    Hello reader's...
In Friday night I cut away the floor of the new propshaft tunnel out, yesterday was adapted rear floor panel so it is ready to be welded to the car when the comp one rollbar is ready for assembly. Yesterday afternoon, I would bend the pipe, but it would not really ...! The tube fold instead of getting a round and nice bending.
So now I'm not sure how I should move on, possibly to find another more modern tube bending machine, which I can borrow for a weekend ...?

    Re: MK1 Cortina

Despite several degrees below zero, I have been in the garage ... but it is cold, especially my feets!

Today I have fixed and adjusted the rollbar, and it was awesome ... would have made it last Thursday, when I have my main garage evening ... but there were other things in between, I have to go to my good friends and watched a broken pellet press if it went to assemble the proper bearing failure, but there were a lot more damage than "just to screw up with the new ball", so garages evening was today, instead ...
Tomorrow I will try to get to the cage plays together with rollbar ... it will be exciting, to see if I get to do on the corners up toward the ceiling again ...?

    Today's exercises ...
I have fused and welded together the front cage with rollbar. Tomorrow I will make the left side stays at B-pillar and cross bar over the windscreen

begins to look like a race car ...

    Today's update ...
short pipe at the B-pillar are now complete, and also even the cross bar over windscreen.
Tomorrow it will be quiet, because it's a bandy match on TV ... and I will be a bit social with my best friend, but on Wednesday go work clothes back on ... I will start doing X'et in the roof...
    more info coming soon..

    - Fattens evening readers ...
Tonight was the "cross in the ceiling."
Tomorrow I will unleash the rollbar and make a valiant attempt to across-weld ...
Here some image of the cross ...
