    Talking Fiesta Mk1 1360 X/Flow Turbo

    Heres my Fiesta Project...

I bought the car about 3 years ago and used it as my daily driver, it was pretty much standard other then the wheels.

But soon got bored and started modifying as you do... I fitted sports suspension and some OZ wheels.

Time past and the standard 1.1 got boring

So i dropped in a 1.6 X/flow with a BVH, Kent BCF3, Ashley exhaust, KnN filter and Bestek igntion and used the car for about a year

Eventually the car started to rust on the rear arch so i decided to bring it off the road to fix it....

2 years later its still off the road!!

But now it has a new look and engine spec....

    Re: Fiesta Mk1 1360 X/Flow Turbo

With the car off the road i started having ideas, i wanted turbo power but didnt want to loss the X/flow so i started gavering info and parts to see if it was possible to turbo the X/flow!

I had a 1300 supersport block and crank in the garage, i got the block bored to 1360cc and i painted it up. The crank was reground and i got some new bearings

I didnt want to go all out and buy steel crank, rods and forged pistons if it didnt work so i have used standard items and heavy duty bolts.

I rebuilt the bottom end and fitted 1600 pistons. Theses have a larger bowl so it will help lower the compression

Copper headgasket will help disperse heat quicker

Next up was the cylinder head. Ive used a chambered one so the compression will be lowered further. Steel rocker gear is also fitted.

Finshed off with a burton rocker cover

I trial fitted the engine into the car. I had a manifold that would fit a T3 turbo, but when all fitted the manifold was too high which ment the bonnet wouldnt close!!

I decided the car would be used mainly for drag racing so the T3 on the small engine was abit of a over kill. I found a different manifold and a smaller turbo from a Audi TT. Perfect

With the engine back out my bro knocked up a temporary inlet manifold..

The engine was near enough finished so i left it in the shed and started work on the car....

    Re: Fiesta Mk1 1360 X/Flow Turbo

Engine out work started... 1st up was to seam weld the crossmember, bulkhead, suspension turrets and engine mounts...

The car was then took to the unit poped on axle stands and the underneath was stripped off...

Grotty rear arch removed and replaced with a nice new one

The car got stripped to a bare shell and we made a rollover spit to tackle the underneath!

Wirebrushed, treated, primed, stone chipped and painted...

The bay was primed and painted...

    New steering rack fitted!

Some new goodies and blasted parts

    Rear brake plates rebuilt

Various bits were blasted, painted and rebushed

    Axle rebuilt with gaz dampers

    Trigger wheel and sensor fitted

    Engine finally in the bay

Xr2 Calipers, Green Stuff pads and D/G discs

Whoops forgot to set the coilovers

    Rolling at last new rims!

    Over the box exhaust

Gave the inside a quick spray

    Some prep work before spraying

    Its back! All shinny!

    New mirrors and windows fitted

Thats really nice dude Are you using V6 conrod bolts?? Well i made 125hp@wheels with a std 1600 with a T3 and torque was at 196Nm on the wheels What size injectors do you have in there??, im also going to fabricate a larger intake as im aiming for 200hp on the wheels this time around

Good luck with the rest of youre project and ill keep my eye on it

    Re: Fiesta Mk1 1360 X/Flow Turbo

Thanks for all the comments ppl

I have my ecu back from repair today so hopfully she will be fired up this weekend

senuwees - the bolts are high tensile ones. Tbh i wish i had made the bottom end abit stronger but will see how it holds up. The injectors will do around 214cm3/min but will have it on a rolling road when its done and see if every works ok. 200 horses would be nice but i will be happy with about 120 outa the little 1.3

Sweet install. Love the way you have tackled the biggest issue the exhaust downpipe. Wish i had thought of it years ago when i was gonna do an RS turbo transplant.
