yb management isnt hard to do, you just need to fit a yb front pulley or fit a trigger wheel to your existing, fabricate a crank sensor mount, or perhaps fit a yb sump, and use a yb dizzy, loom and ecu, whether its a good idea or not depends on how cheaply easily you can get all the bits and get it remapped.

personally i wouldnt bother and would use an aftermarket ecu.

re compression, you can drop it a fair way by reshaping the combustion chamber, using transit low comp pistons or machining std high comp pistons is another way, but cast pistons are weak and wont take kindly to lots of boost or even slight detonation. other options machine some forged high comp pistons, yb pistons and rods are another possibility, although that will leave compression very low, unless you use a 1600 head or start machining everything to get the compression back up again

If you did go cossie way, management wise, discard the weber mareli ecu's, and the large turbo escort and use the FORD EECIV, way way better than all the others and is adaptive.
