i did do some work on the front end about 6 months back but it was pretty crap so this is the start of the good work
done this side over the last week but ive been waiting since monday for some folding.
i am doing this build alon side 2 bikes and i trike so theres no rush
the plan is to build it into a lightweight racer but keep it roadlegal, it wont have stoopid power to start but if i still can get insured then i will put silly power in it and only use it on the track

eerm yes no updates lately... ive been doing this beasty

only problem is.. it needs a new brain, so im putting it to one side for a few days and going to do some work on my 105e... some pics tommorow.
im going for a semi spaceframe now(thanks gary)

got some bits folded up ready and some fiesta floorpans... thanks for all the comments, i really need to get that trike finished and get it gone, then i have got some money for my car

no pics, i have put in a lump of chassis and a load of floor but i found out (from a very very reliable source) that i was going about the car the wrong way, so ive braced the car up , putten it back on the ploor and its ready to go to grandpas untill the new garage is done (hopefully the end of september) i can cut it about any more as it will flex too much when i move it

so im afraid you'll have to wait

i really just wanna crack on with it now and get stuck into it

Don't take this the wrong way but i wish a few of the 15year olds round me were a bit more like yourself.putting their efforts into some thing like this rather than wandering the streets to see what they can smash or nick.Sorry for the babble but genuinely blown away by the work from some one of your age,that trike looks ace

just a small update... ive been saving up... and bought a few bits ond bobs..... got uprights, a lump, and a bellhousing, now i only need a type 9 box and a garage to build it in
im going for wishbone front susp, spaceframed, flat bottomed weapon
i think im going with a live axle?

got her up on the 'jig' now perfectly square, perfectly level, next is to cut some more metal out... stick the eiging and box in ... buy some tube and get playing

They were the days, when i was a 16 year old single apprentice and would stay on in work til 9 or 10 pm building my mk2, on a £50 p/w wage.
now im married with kids and get perhaps 5 days a year in my workshop, but earning enough to build proper car now

todays update... i seem to have cut out an alarming amount of steel


thats not where the engine will actually sit... it will be right back but i need to move that big tube, so im not going to position it untill i have a seat, to help me position engine and gearbox



so now i have a complete 105e bulkhead waiting for a new home

bit of maths tommorow and hopefully i might get the uprights on the jig

Thats the way to do it Ant, with it all Jigged properly and you doing all the calculations to position everything perfectly i'm sure it will start to take shape in no time.

Keep up the good work, I think everyone is in awe of your abilities already and with Gary as a mentor I'm sure you won't go wrong even though it is a project and a half.

the trike reminds me of when i was 15, we used to build go karts the good dAYs!! keep at it, you're not starting with a mint shell, so alot of respect 2 u
